The February 2012, Amrita Life Settlement Index results were reported on Tuesday March 6th, 2012 at 10:00 AM EST. The February results inched up 54.3 points or 5.7% to 1005.3. The index continues its range-bound trend over the last 6 months with only a modest increase compared with last month's results.

The December 2011, Amrita Life Settlement Index results were reported on Tuesday January 3rd, 2012 at 10:00 AM EST. The results showed the end of the year finishing with a sharp rise in life settlement demand over November 2011. The index posted a decisive gain of 7.1% from the previous month's 931.9 point level. The 66.6 point increase had the index ending the year at 998.5 points

The results of the Amrita Life Settlement Index were released at 10AM EST on Tuesday November 1st. The Index remained unchanged at 978.5 points. The flat index followed two months of declines as the ALSI previously marked reduced demand for life insurance policies on the secondary market August and September.

The September 2011, Amrita Life Settlement Index results were reported on Tuesday October 4th at 10:00 AM EST. The survey showed a continued decrease in demand over the previous month. Demand for policies on the secondary market for life insurance dipped slightly as the index gave up 28.8 points or 2.9% to 978.5.

This month licensed life settlement providers reported supply outstripping demand as cases received over offers and closings increased by a slight margin.

The August 2011, Amrita Life Settlement Index results were reported on Tuesday September 6th at 10:00 AM EST. The Index dropped 94.4 points to end at 1007.3 for the month. The 8.6% decline followed 5 months of consecutive index gains in demand for life insurance policies on the secondary market.

Licensed life settlement providers reported making fewer life settlement purchase offers in August versus the preceding month, while also noting an increase in the number of cases presented for consideration. In addition, respondents also closed fewer cases last month compared with July.

Life Settlement Index Recap - April 2011 Data

The April 2011, Amrita Life Settlement Index hit a new high last month. Results were reported on Tuesday May 2nd at 10:00 AM EST and showed a continued strengthening of the USA's secondary life insurance market. The index posted an 8.6% increase from 851.6 points the previous month. The 73 point increase to 924.6 was due to improving indicators across a majority of survey categories.

The March 2011, Amrita Life Settlement Index results were reported on Tuesday April 5th at 10:00 AM EST. The results showed a strong rebound from the previous month with a 11.5% increase. The 87.8 point climb to 851.6 was based on responses indicative of growing life settlement demand across all survey categories.

The results showed the new year starting off with a continued climb in life settlement demand over December 2010. The index posted a decisive gain of 11% from the previous month's 760.8 point level. The 83.4 point increase to 844.1 points again marked another record high for the one year old index.

The results of the Amrita Life Settlement Index were released at 10AM EST on Tuesday January 4th. The Index rose slightly from 739.6 to 760.8. The 2.9% increase marked the 5th straight month of gains for the index which measures demand and sentiment on the secondary life insurance market.
